An APPLICATION has been made to Barrow County Council to chop down three timber ‘displaying superior indicators of ash return’ in a parsonage.
The applying type states that the plan of timber within the yard of the property on Market Place in Dalton was put in place for ‘security causes’.
The applying, submitted by a consultant of the Carlisle Diocesan Board of Finance, got here amid information that the Cumbria County Council is inspecting timber within the county for indicators of illness.

A county council spokesperson stated 5,326 ash timber have been investigated alongside the roads up to now, of which 1,102, or 21 %, have been “recognized as severely diseased and motion must be taken to guard the freeway community.”
Keith Little, county council cupboard member for highways and transport, stated: “Ash timber are one of the vital outstanding timber in gardens, fields and hedges, and we now want pressing motion from homeowners of diseased timber to make sure these timber don’t turn into one other individuals or property. hazard to him.”
